Our Story may be a sad one. But it is inspiring...

Queenie (aka The Queen of Sheba) was my first rescue cat. Being a senior, she spent six months in the pound, cringing on the concrete floor, very sick and malnourished, with practically no chances of ever being adopted or getting out. Then a true miracle happened and two wonderful people from the MKC rescue group pulled her out literally just before she was too far gone. From this point on, the new life has began for one little cat with a huge soul and absolutely incredible personality.
It was a twist of fate and a myriad of coincidences, or it just simply meant to be, that soon after I became Queenie's foster mum. At the time she was deemed "palliative" due to all her underlying health issues. But she was not ready to give up on life yet! Queenie was a true fighter and I always admired her ability to enjoy life and live it to the fullest, defying all the odds. In the matter of weeks she gained weight and over months her condition gradually stabilised. Her incredible personality started to shine through and it became clear to all that she is the true Queen. Her unique marble coat just added a pinch of that exquisiteness, so Donna, one of her rescuers, remarked that she looks like The Queen of Sheba. And the name stuck...
Queenie was finally happy, warm and loved to bits. She adored sleeping on her fluffs, tasting yummy foods and being the Queen of the house. And she gave back no less love. We became bonded forever...

In late May 2019, the underlying illness took its toll and Queenie was diagnosed with aggressive liver cancer. Two weeks later, on a beautiful sunny afternoon of June 11th, Queenie crossed the Rainbow Bridge at her furrever home, on her favourite fluffs, peacefully, with her mummy holding her tightly and whispering how much she loves her till the very end...
Having to say Goodbye to my beautiful girl was by far the hardest decision in my entire life. When her little heart stopped, a part of mine did, too. But the part that remained, committed to honour her name and her memory by doing something good while helping other animals just like Queenie, who ended up in horrible circumstances at no fault of their own.
That is how the idea of Queenie's Pawprints came to be. This is my beloved girl's legacy and therefore it is more than just business. Not only I strive to bring the highest quality products and to protect our green planet by choosing natural, organic, sustainable and/or recyclable materials. I also donate part of the profit from each sale to help animals in need. Queenie's Pawprints works closely with animal rescues across Australia and proudly supports their incredible work. For the love of animals...

These are Pawprints that Queenie left on my heart and on this Earth...
